The key composent of a complete
KMR address is the
issue code.
When you choose an issue to view inside the
KMR, the web server creates a
session
between itself and your computer in which the
KMR "remembers" which issue you are reading.
The
issue code is not located in the address bar for each page because the session already knows this.
If you copy a URL that does not contain the issue code, that URL will likely result in a
Page Not Found because the
visitor who uses your link will not have a session in existence when they visit that link.
The
KMR will not know which issue they were trying to access.
This is solved by including the issue code in the full URL.
The issue code tells the
KMR which issue the viewer would like to access, and a new session is then created for that visitor.
The
KMR website keeps track of the session for every visitor for approximately 60 minutes.
This way if you leave the
KMR for a few minutes and come back, the
KMR will remember which issue you were just reading.
Ok, got it!
