Retired Kommunications
David Will
Retirement Chair
Greetings, retired folks - and anyone else who might read this!

KMEA is making an effort to be sure all retired music educators are recognized for their years of service. One way we can do this is by making sure none of our colleagues goes "into that good night" forgotten. Some times when music educators retire they drop off membership lists and are never heard from again. We would like to see that they are at least offered the opportunity to participate in whatever way they might want to after retirement. Those things might include mentoring, adjudicating, tutoring, or even participating in our annual get together at the KMEA In-Service Workshop.

Here is how you can help. If you know of someone who has retired in the last few years, please send me their name. My email address is shown at the top of this page. If they are not already on my list, I may contact you for their contact information. We have requested district presidents to send us this information, but you and I know they can't possibly know everyone who retires in their district. Craig Manteuffel has tried to help out with this project through his KSHSAA contacts with administrators, and this has proven helpful. Now we would like help from as many sources as possible. With help from everyone we can hopefully keep any KMEA retirees from "slipping through the cracks" never to be heard from again (in music education circles).

Thanks so much for your consideration of this important project!
