I hope that this finds you energized with the beginning of 2015 and looking forward to a wonderful KMEA In-Service Workshop!

We have a wonderful selection of workshops in the Elementary room at the In-Service Workshop this year that will help us push ourselves and reexamine how we teach. Thursday, Martha Riley from Purdue University in Indiana will lead a session with dances from the United States and from other countries.

Our Friday will begin with two workshops with Ohio presenter Roger Sams. He will lead sessions that focus on improvisation and composition. Californian Lynn Kleiner joins us later on Friday for rhythm reading and pitch matching sessions. The Kansas Orff chapter will lead a sharing session as well. Friday is rounded out with Kodály presenter Jill Trinka.

Jill Trinka begins our Saturday morning with her second session followed by our Elementary Choral Reading Session led by Holly Taylor. Scott Iseminger is our final presenter Saturday with a session focusing on special learners.

Finally, we are lucky to have three performing groups in the Elementary room this year. Blessed Sacrament School Youth Choir, OK Elementary School Singing Panthers, and Sunflower Elementary School Choir will be performing throughout the workshop.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or feedback concerning the Elementary room. I look forward to seeing many of you in just a few weeks!
