Kodály Music Educators of Kansas
"Kodály Methods, Level I, was in many ways a total immersion experience. Over eight hours a day with intensive study in a different approach to music was both exhausting and exhilarating. Mrs. Jo's enthusiasm and passion are contagious, and our class bonded together in a way I could not have anticipated."
- Kim Noller, Level I
"I loved how there was such a big focus on the pedagogy in Level III, improving our teaching and learning how to seamlessly transition from one activity to the next . . . My classroom is full of love, laughter and joy, and it is largely thanks to the instruction I have received through the WSU Kodály Program."
- Lindsay Jervis, Level III
Kodály Music Educators of Kansas is approaching its 10-year anniversary! Our state chapter has really grown in the past year. We now have 33 active members (last year's count was 23) who have joined the Organization of American Kodály Educators and many more associate members who are active in our chapter but have not yet taken the step of joining the national organization. Our Facebook page just hit 100 members in the past month (check out " Kodály Music Educators of Kansas" on Facebook to stay connected)!

Wichita State University hosted levels I, II, and III of Kodály training this past June. There were 55 levels students, several of whom were from out-of-state. Though the Wichita school district usually has the majority of representation in levels training, 50% of this year's participants were from other areas of Kansas. KMEK is excited to be expanding Kodály influence throughout the state. The KMEK chapter provided a lending library of unique resources for the participants, held an interest meeting to encourage chapter membership, offered mentoring support, and donated daily snacks.
