KMEA Elementary Chair
Kudos to every KMEA member who was able to attend the 2013 KMEA In-Service Workshop. With the dynamic leadership of Holly Taylor, our past Elementary Music Chair, participants were able to experience a variety of sessions regardless of the blizzard. We are so thankful that Leigh Ann Garner was able to get a flight to Wichita and lead her sessions as planned. I will be working with KMEA Executive Director John Taylor to try to reschedule David Frego and Artie Almedia for a future conference. Many thanks must also be extended to the Kodály Music Educators of Kansas and the Kansas Orff Chapter for filling in for sessions where scheduled presenters were unable to make the conference.

We are fortunate to have many talented drumming, Orff, and choral groups within our elementary music community. If you have an elementary group that you would like to have considered as a performing group in 2014, please visit the KMEA website for detailed information regarding submission of audition materials.

It is an honor to serve as your Elementary Chair for 2014 and 2015. I look forward to working with each of you. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about the elementary portion of our organization.
