The next NAfME Southwestern Division Symposium will be in Dallas, Summer 2014. It will continue to focus on teaching music in urban and rural schools.
Division Meeting
During the NAfME Southwestern Division meetings this past July in Wichita, SW Division President John Taylor organized a very informative session about teacher evaluation. Presenters included Dr. Michael Raiber, President Elect, Oklahoma Music Educators Association and Southwestern Representative, Society for Music Teacher Education and Joe Wilhelm, President, Oklahoma Music Educators Association. During this session, David Dennis, Chair of the Kansas State Board of Education, also provided a look at the Kansas Educator Evaluation Protocol (KEEP).
