Eligibility: High School sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the 2011-2012 school year are eligible to apply and submit an audition on-line.

Nominations: As an added recognition, teachers may nominate eligible students until October 14, 2011; however students do not need a nomination to apply and audition. Those students who are nominated AND complete the audition will receive a certificate of recognition.

Auditions/Applications: Students can apply directly and submit their auditions beginning October 21, 2011 at OpusEvent.com. Students will need the contact information for their teachers and the teacher's NAfME (MENC) ID # to complete the application. Auditions close January 15, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Notification: Students and teachers will be notified in February 2012.

Schedule: Students will arrive on June 21, 2012, and depart on either Sunday, June 24, 2012, or Monday, June 25, 2012. Students will be housed in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. Outstanding student musicians from throughout the country will rehearse and perform with renowned conductors in the 2012 NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles. The Concert Band, Orchestra, Mixed Choir, and Jazz Band will perform at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC on Sunday, June 24, 2012.

KMEA is committed to encouraging music students in Kansas to audition for these ensembles. Students who are chosen and participate will receive assistance from KMEA to help with their expenses.
