2016 Retired Luncheon Registration - Due by Feb. 8
Registration Form

Greetings KMEA retirees!

As we look forward to 2016 I'm a little apprehensive. There are so many things going on in our world that are not what I would call normal. I have to wonder if the great minds in music had similar concerns when they were composing, performing, and teaching. How did it impact their personal lives and their results?

On with the present day and what we look forward to in 2016! I hope one of those things for you is the annual KMEA convention/workshop and our annual meeting/luncheon. Once again last year we dealt with some weather issues, so we will hope for clear sailing this year.

Some of us look forward to this event every year to reconnect and share with old friends and colleagues. Others may really retire from doing this annual recharge, but we want everyone to know it's available. Please pass the word to those you know who have retired and might benefit from sharing this event with fellow KMEA retirees. I'm sure president Martha Gabel and the board and staff have been working hard to make sure we have another outstanding convention/workshop. Since they support us by providing the time and place for our luncheon meeting, and by partially funding the luncheon, we need to show our commitment to the continuation of this event by making sure we and other retirees are in attendance taking advantage of this opportunity.

This year's entertainment will be provided by the instrumental jazz program at Hutchinson Community College. We will, of course, hear from Billie Hegge-DuVall about those who have passed away during the past year. Please let me or Billie know if you have heard or know of someone who should be included on her list. I'm also sure some of our state and/or national leadership will be there to greet us and bring us up to date on any state or national issues.

Finally, I ask for your help in identifying all fairly recent retirees. I annually receive a list from NAfME, but there are always those who slip through the cracks or just plain get missed.

Please complete the registration form. Please note the registration deadline of Feb. 8. The Hyatt needs to know fairly early about the number of meals they need to prepare. Please make checks payable to KMEA. Thanks for all you do and have done, and I hope to see you in Wichita at the meeting.
