Retired Luncheon Registration Form
Deadline to register is February 7, 2015

Greetings fellow KMEA retirees!

2015 is sure to be an interesting year! There are no Olympics or major political elections, but I'm sure we'll find plenty of things to keep life interesting. One of those things I have begun looking forward to now is the In-Service Workshop and our annual meeting/luncheon. Last year's event was definitely better attended than the year before, and while that pleases me, I still would like to see more of our fellow retirees there.

I realize there are those who have retired who will probably never attend the convention again. On the other hand there are those who really want to be there every year as much as possible. Please pass the word to those you know who have retired and might benefit from sharing this event with fellow KMEA retirees.

Once again President Avian Bear and the board and staff have been working hard to make sure we have another outstanding conference. The leadership of KMEA is so convinced we are still an important part of the group that they provide us the time and place for our luncheon meeting. They also partially fund the luncheon to help us save our retirement dollars. We need to show our commitment to the continuation of this event by making sure we and other retirees are in attendance taking advantage of this opportunity.

I was very fortunate this year in arranging for the Wichita Children's Choir to be our entertainment. If you will remember last year we had a grandchild of one of our members in the performing group. Well this year we could have grandchildren, former students, former students' children, and former students' grandchildren performing. Does that qualify as grandstudents?! This should be another great entertainment experience!

I know many of you continue to be involved in music education in one way or another and I know the leadership of KMEA and NAfME will more than likely be in attendance at the luncheon to thank you for past, present, and future service.

Annually I ask you to inform me if you know of recent retirees. I do receive a list from NAfME, but there are always those who slip through the cracks or just plain get missed. Also please let me or Billie Hegge-DuVall know of those who have passed away in the last year.

Last year I asked those of you who read the "new" electronic KMR to please email me. This was intended to let me know if there are those who are really reading it. I believe I received one or two emails. I am going to ask again, and I hope I get more responses!

Please click on the above link for the registration form for the luncheon. Note the registration deadline of Feb. 7. The Hyatt needs to know fairly early about the number of meals they need to prepare. Please make checks payable to KMEA. Thanks for all you do and have done, and I hope to see you in Wichita at the meeting.
