Alejandro Cremaschi 9:00-9:50 AM session From Stage to YouTube in 60 Minutes (or Less) During this step-by-step session, participants will be shown the process of videotaping a performance, transferring the material to a computer, editing it, and publishing it to YouTube, a free, online video service. No previous knowledge required! 10:00-10:50 AM session Collegiate Piano Master Class Master class with college piano students. Dr. Cremaschi currently teaches piano and piano pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the United States. He received a Doctorate degree in Piano Performance from the University of Minnesota, and undergraduate degrees from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, in Argentina, and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He studied with Edith Peinado de Drago, Dora De Marinis, Nancy Roldan and Lydia Artymiw. His repertoire includes works from the traditional European canon, as well as works by American and Argentine composers such as George Crumb, Carlos Guastavino, Juan Jose Castro and Alberto Ginastera. He has performed in numerous cities worldwide, including Buenos Aires, Guadalajara, Montreal, Kuala Lumpur, London, Washington and New York. He has appeared as a soloist with the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, the Cuyo Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras in Argentina and the United States. He was a prize winner at the International Beethoven Sonata Piano Competition in Memphis, Tennessee in 2001. Cantilena No. 1. 2:45 - 3:35 PM session Color and Composing: A Winning Combination in Learning to Read Music in Elementary Music Classrooms There IS something new under the sunMerrieNan Melodies! This interactive session will expose you to a revolutionary way to help students learn to read music easily and joyfully. Learn how kindergarteners through fourth graders are learning to read treble AND bass clefs in a classroom setting. Merrie Crawford Skaggs and Nan Crawford Funkhouser are sisters who have collaborated on the creation of MerrieNan Melodies. Nan and Merrie have had great fun creating a different approach to teaching music. Their respective professional fields of music and education have complemented each other in the creation of MerrieNan Melodies. Both Merrie and Nan are interested in supporting the joyful education of music students of all ages.
