Students and teachers in the South Central District of KMEA were again busy preparing for concerts and auditions this fall, as we confirmed performers and clinicians for our Elementary and Middle School performing groups, and as the High School Band, Choir, and Orchestra students prepared for District auditions. The Elementary Honor Choir Clinician for our October 27, 2012, workshop was Christine Freeman from Leawood, KS. The Elementary workshop clinician was Julie Linville, from Andover, KS. We look forward to working with the following clinicians at the November 3, 2012, Honor Group performances:

• Middle School Choir - Carol Krueger, Director of Choral Activities at Emporia State University
• Middle School Band - Scott Freeby, Director of Bands in USD 383, Manhattan, KS
• 1234A High School Jazz Band - Lindsey Williams, Music Education and Graduate Research at the University of Missouri-Kansas City
• 56A High School Jazz Band - Tim Doherty, Kansas City Jazz Artist

Our December Mini-Convention will again take place at two different locations. Maize South High School will host our High School Honor Choirs and Maize High School will host the Instrumental groups. We look forward to working with the following clinicians on December 1, 2012:

• High School Mixed Choir - Michael Hanawalt, Choral Music at Wichita State University
• High School Women's Choir - Rhonda Fuelberth, Director of Graduate Music Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
• High School Orchestra - David Littrell, Director of the Kansas State University Orchestra
• 1234A High School Band - Craig Miller, Director of Park Hill South High School bands, Kansas City, MO
• 56A High School Band - Paul Popiel, Director of Bands at the University of Kansas
