National Webinar Advocacy Presentation by Fred Burrack, KMEA Advocacy Chair
On September 20, 2011, NAfME sponsored a webinar titled: Strategies for MEAs: A Case Study of the Process and Results of a Statewide Survey and the Development of an Advocacy Network.

Fred Burrack, from Kansas State University and the KMEA Advocacy Chair, was invited to describe the process and results of the KMEA statewide survey regarding the impact of budget cuts on music programs in Kansas last year. As a result of Fred's efforts, other states are replicating the Kansas survey, including Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. He also shared other KMEA advocacy efforts, including the development of a statewide advocacy network.
